A cliche an overused expression or a predictable treatment of an idea. A visual can be effective at first nut after a while it just gets worn out. For example, this picture above can be viewed as a cliche because this is a visual that you see over and over again. You see this on shirts, cars, jackets and a lot of other items. When seeing this for the first time it has an impact on you. You start to get tired of seeing it over and over again. It looses its impact on you after a while.
I agree this quote is a cliche it is seen in a lot of places. To me this is also a stereotype. It is a stereotype because when people see all the shirts and other things that say "I ♥ NY" they will begin to think New York is such a great place. I am not saying that it isn't im just saying that alot of people think it is good because of these shirts as well as it's reputation. When alot of people go to New York they probbaly think it is such a great place from all of the things they heard. I just think that you shouln't think a place is great off of something you heard, it should be based on something you know.
