A cliche an overused expression or a predictable treatment of an idea. A visual can be effective at first nut after a while it just gets worn out. For example, this picture above can be viewed as a cliche because this is a visual that you see over and over again. You see this on shirts, cars, jackets and a lot of other items. When seeing this for the first time it has an impact on you. You start to get tired of seeing it over and over again. It looses its impact on you after a while.

One post modern visual strategy that I see clearly in the painting is appropriation. This artist takes an original painting and puts a twist to it. Instead of using the regular picture the artists adds some flavor to it. He make the lady blow bubbles which also makes the picture comical. The photo is also a surprise because it goes against the normal picture. If this was the original picture it wouldn't really stick out to to anyone but since this one has a different aspect to it it catches people's attention.

During this first quarter of art I have learned a lot of useful tools that will help me throughout the year and beyond. In the beginning of this quarter I wasn't really excited to start art 1. But as time went on I became more and more into the class. When we first started the elements and principals I thought that it was going to be boring but then as we started to apply the principals and elements it was more interesting. All of the articles we have read has made me understand art a little more in advance. I hope next quarter gets even more interesting.

The elements and principals accordion book has by far been the best art project we have done so far. It really helped bring out the "inner art" in me. I didn't know that I  could create such a design that had good results in the end. When we first began I really though that this was going to be a hard process. I thought that it was going to be challenging to include all of the principals and elements. But as I began I i did't even notice that I was using all of the elements and principals. My book turned out actually very good. I was impressed with my work.
